PowerBrakes increases disc ranges!
As PowerBrakes has grown, so has our products offering. Whilst we started with just the one range of discs, it became very quickly apparent that there were multiple gaps in the market that we may not quite fully cater for. So we put our heads together, had a bit of a think and have come up with solutions!
First up – our normal range of PowerBrakes discs will become PBD. There will be no changes to the product, we’ll still continue to use high quality Pagid blanks, you’ll still get the full range of design options, it’ll just make it easier to manage for both customers and ourselves.
Example PBD Disc:
Secondly we’re introducing a new range – PowerBrakes PRO. On a lot of the newer high end vehicles such as BMW and Mercedes, these are now leaving the factory with composite 2-piece brake discs. These discs come with many obvious benefits such as better cooling capabilities and reduced unsprung weight, and we’re now pleased to be able to offer them with the PowerBrakes treatment. Most applications will be using Textar discs, which of course need no introduction. Premium brand, premium performance, premium price.
Example PRO Disc:
Thirdly – PowerBrakes ECO. Now the ECO range is not fully new to us. We’ve supplied these to numerous customers so far but they’re now getting a full release. Like the PRO discs, these are aimed at high end vehicles but with one big difference – they’re machined from one-piece discs. The main reason for this – cost. Yeah they’re a bit heavier than the PRO discs, and the cooling capabilities aren’t as great, but they’re generally around half the price. We’ve used these ourselves for over a year now, on high power vehicles that have had constant track abuse including Nurburgring track days. To be honest, these are what we would (and do!) run over the PRO discs. Apec are our manufacturer of choice for ECO discs.
Example ECO Disc:
Last but not least – PowerBrakes GEN. This is for those people that still want to use Genuine discs (we’re looking at you, Ford guys!) but want to take advantage of having a design machined into the disc. In our eyes, there’s no real benefit to these discs and we’d always recommend PBD over GEN, but in the interest of giving our customers more flexibility we’ve added this as an option. GEN discs will only be added to the site on an "On Request" basis as they are not a core product, and they will be fairly expensive.
Example GEN Disc:
We'll keep working with all of you to grow PowerBrakes into one of the leading UK brake suppliers, so if there's any suggestions you do have we're more than happy to listen and take any feedback on board.
