Which package is right for me?

A question we’re often asked, so we’ve kept the “package” descriptions relatively simple. As always if you have any questions, please contact us in the usual ways.

Stage OE – designed for daily driving. This package consists of Pagid OE discs, and your choice of OE pads.

Stage 1 – designed for daily driving. This package consists of our PBD discs, and your choice of OE pads. This is mainly to enhance the looks of your brakes. We do not recommend this package for fast road, this is not the intended usage of OE pads. Getting OE pads too hot will cause pad deposits to be left on the discs which will result in brake judder which is commonly misconceived as warped discs. For fast road applications, please see Stage 2.

Stage 2 – designed for fast road. This package consists of our PBD discs, and your choice of fast road pads. All pads supplied in our Stage 2 packages are R90 approved and fully road legal. This is where you’ll start to see a benefit in the performance of your brakes with increased stopping power and heat resistance. Some customers may experience increased noise from their brakes with this package which is a trade-off for better performance. Brake dust levels will also increase. Some compounds may be used in short, light track sessions but this package is not recommended for track use, please see Stage 3.

Stage 3 – designed for track. This package consists of our PBD discs, and your choice of track pads. None of the pads supplied in a Stage 3 package are road legal and you use them at your own risk. Track pads are noisy, and very dusty. Generally they do not come with brake pad wear sensors, so you will need to bypass these if your vehicle has them. Track pads take longer to reach their working temperatures so cold performance is minimal. These will however operate at much higher temperatures than other pads, reducing fade and keeping you on track for longer. Additional care must be taken when using this package on track, such as performing 1-2 cool down laps before coming off the track to give your brakes sufficient time to cool properly.
